Membership Composition
By Ray Herrick, CAE
FEDA Executive Vice President
Any Way You Slice It
As executive vice president, I'm often asked the
question "Who belongs to FEDA?" My two most frequent responses are,
"The majority of the top 100 national dealers are in FEDA" and
"The
lion share of traditional E&S sales are generated by FEDA
members."
A fact that may not be as well-known is that the
majority of FEDA members are small-to medium-sized dealerships. The pie chart
below shows that 75 percent of our members are below $15 million in sales.
Another 12 percent are between $15 million and $30 million and 9 percent are
above $30 million. These figures, however, have not gone unnoticed by the
Association's Executive Committee. This summer officers will meet to create a
plan of action that will address the needs of FEDA members of all sizes. In
fact, the responses to the recent strategic planning survey, which was sent to
all FEDA members, will be tabulated according to the size of each dealership.
This will make it easier to identify varying needs and interests.
The Executive Committee, which will meet in September, encourages the comments and
suggestions of all members to help gather new ideas to enhance the Association's
value. Please fax (800-677-9607) or e-mail your ideas to me (
ray@feda.com).
This is your association and your opinion matters.

You Can Help Strengthen the Dealer's Voice
If you know of dealers that qualify for membership and would like to sponsor
them, send me their name, address and phone number. I'll take it from there and
send you a copy of my letter to them. A follow up call from you is always
helpful.
