Young Industry Leaders
FEDA’s Young Industry Leaders (YIL) program identifies, develops, and connects emerging talent across the foodservice equipment and supplies industry through leadership development, peer learning, and meaningful industry relationships. Participants strengthen their leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and prepare for greater responsibilities within their organizations and the industry.
How the Program Works?
YIL supports professional growth and industry engagement through a combination of in-person and virtual programming, including:
- Annual Leadership Development Retreat: A day-and-a-half, in-person experience focused on practical leadership skills, strategic thinking, organizational effectiveness, and peer collaboration. Participants exchange ideas, explore real-world challenges, and build relationships with fellow industry professionals.
- Quarterly Virtual Learning Opportunities: Interactive sessions that explore practical leadership concepts, introduce new perspectives, and provide tools participants can apply within their organizations.
- Industry Conference Networking: Opportunities to connect with fellow young industry professionals from distributor and manufacturer organizations through networking events, mixers, and other industry gatherings.
Together, these experiences help participants strengthen their leadership capabilities, learn from peers across the industry, and build relationships that support their continued professional growth.
Who Should Participate?
YIL brings together emerging and established leaders from FEDA-member distributor and manufacturer organizations who contribute to their organizations and are interested in continued growth and development.
To be considered, candidates must:
- Work for a FEDA member organization: Hold a full-time position with a FEDA-member distributor or manufacturer.
- Demonstrate leadership potential: Have leadership responsibilities or show readiness to take on greater responsibility within their organization.
- Be nominated by their manager: Receive a nomination from a manager who supports their continued professional and leadership development.
How to Participate
Professionals interested in YIL should discuss the opportunity with their manager. Managers can recommend candidates by completing the nomination form below.
