Alto-Shaam, a FEDA manufacturer member, has donated a 1200-UP hot holding cabinet to support a kitchen remodel and renovation at the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, located about a half-mile south of the hospital.

The kitchen underwent a six-month renovation to enhance the space’s efficiency and to modernize its fixtures, cabinetry and equipment to create an environment that fosters community, healthy eating and culinary creativity. The new kitchen design is intended to create a warm and welcoming space for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for sick children receiving medical treatment.

Outfitted with new equipment, the professional chef-grade kitchen will serve more than 140,000 meals annually to families staying at the house and other Ronald McDonald House locations at nearby Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital and within Lurie Children’s Hospital itself. To ensure families have access to warm and nourishing meals throughout their stay, Alto-Shaam has donated a hot holding cabinet featuring its patented Halo Heat technology to the kitchen.

“Ronald McDonald House provides incredible support and care to thousands of families of children receiving critical medical treatment,” said Ryan Hansen, Alto-Shaam’s regional sales manager – North Central. “It’s an honor for us to support such a meaningful organization and all the vital work they do.”
