Jack Starr, owner and former vice president of Boston Showcase Co. (BSC), has announced his retirement after 48 years in the foodservice equipment and supplies industry.
Having joined the family business in the 1970s, Jack Starr worked with his father, Jason, for 30 years and with his brother, Alan, for nearly five decades. During that time, he helped to grow Boston Showcase into the country’s 45th-largest foodservice equipment and supplies distributor, according to Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine’s 2025 Distribution Giants report.
In late 2022, he and Alan assumed the roles of owner as part of a succession plan that saw cousins Andy Starr and Matt Starr appointed CEO and president, respectively. Jack Starr had remained active in the business until his recent retirement announcement.
“I will miss working at BSC and working with so many of you, but I am glad our family business is still thriving 113 years later,” he said in an announcement. “Thank you all for the many wonderful relationships and memories over the years.”
