Wasserstrom Expands Phoenix Distribution Center to Handle Heavy Equipment
Wasserstrom begins work on an expansion to its Phoenix distribution center.
The Wasserstrom Co. is transforming its distribution center in Phoenix from a smallware-only facility to a dual-purpose hub that can also handle heavy foodservice equipment.
The project will expand the facility by 77,730 square feet. By creating an additional shipping point for commercial kitchen equipment, the larger space will enable Wasserstrom to optimize supply chains and reduce delivery times for customers across the Southwest and Coastal regions.
Wasserstrom will dedicate 41,200 square feet of the newly constructed space to house inventory and manage the technical logistics of large-scale equipment distribution. The remaining 36,530 square feet will be leased to commercial tenants through the company’s real estate division. Wasserstrom said this split will maximize the utility of the property and open opportunities for additional business operations in the area until Wasserstrom expands into that space.
“This logistics hub is built to scale alongside the changing demands of the foodservice market,” the company said. “It positions us to absorb future volume increases and adapt to changing industry requirements, establishing a foundation for sustained growth.”
