Welbilt Names New General Manager of Convotherm US

Welbilt, an Ali Group company, has appointed Bill Thompson as general manager of Convotherm US, effective July 1, 2026.

Thompson brings more than a decade of leadership experience at Welbilt to the position. Since joining the company in 2012, he has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility across both the Convotherm and Merrychef brands. His previous positions at Convotherm include field marketing manager for North and South America, and director of product management. Those experiences have given him a deep foundation in the brand’s strategy, product development, and customer needs, Welbilt said in a news release.

Since 2023, Thompson has served as vice president of global sales for Merrychef, where he has played a key role in driving global growth and strengthening customer partnerships across multiple regions.

“We are pleased to welcome Bill back to Convotherm,” said Claus Pedersen, president of Convotherm. “His deep understanding of the business, combined with his proven leadership and global perspective, positions him well to lead the Convotherm US organization forward.”
