Alto-Shaam's new equipment donation program aims to provide pre-owned items to nonprofits in need.

Alto-Shaam, a FEDA manufacturer member, has launched Second Serving, a new equipment donation program created to support eligible U.S. nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status.

Through the program, Alto-Shaam will donate select pre-owned equipment to nonprofits in need, helping organizations expand their foodservice capabilities, manage costs, and better serve their communities. The initiative also supports Alto-Shaam’s broader sustainability efforts by extending product lifecycles and reducing equipment waste.

“Second Serving is a natural extension of who we are as a company, reflecting our commitment to community impact and responsible resource management,” Stephanie Maahs, talent manager at Alto-Shaam, said. “We believe food brings people together and strengthens communities. By giving pre-owned equipment a second life, we can support nonprofits doing important work while helping quality equipment continue to serve a meaningful purpose.”

U.S. nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status are eligible to apply for the program. Alto-Shaam equipment will be made available based on inventory, offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and includes a 90-day limited warranty beginning at installation. Organizations interested in learning more or applying may visit Alto-Shaam’s Second Serving page.
