A golf outing fundraiser held by Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies raised $37,555 in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).

This year’s Mike Burkett Memorial Golf Outing was held Monday, Aug. 11, at the Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, Ohio. The event is named in honor of the company’s founder, who passed away in 2021 after a 34-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Since its inception four years ago, the event has raised more than $137,000 for the mission of NMSS to cure MS and to empower those with the disease to live their best lives.

Golfers came from all over the country to participate in the outing. Julie Leggett, Ohio chapter president of NMSS, thanked participants and sponsors and shared how the funds raised would advance the society’s mission. The golf outing’s impact could become even more significant as NMSS is now seeking a matching gift partner to double the amount raised before the final donation is presented.

“This event is more than a fundraiser — it’s a tribute to my father and the community he helped build,” said Jameel Burkett, president and CEO of Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies. “We are deeply grateful to every golfer, sponsor and supporter who continues to stand with us in the fight to end MS. A matching gift would take this year’s impact to the next level.”
