Leadership Updates Across Ali Group and Welbilt

Ali Group and Welbilt announced a series of leadership changes across several brands.
Rob August has been promoted to the role of chief commercial officer for Ali Group and Welbilt globally, effective Sept. 1, 2025. August joined Ali Group in 2006 as the executive vice president of Champion Industries. Since then, he has held a variety of executive positions, including vice president of business development and senior vice president for Ali Group North America. He has also been the executive vice president of Ali Group and Welbilt.
In his new position, August will oversee Ali Group and Welbilt’s global commercial strategy, drive growth across company brands and strengthen customer and channel relationships. “Rob’s extensive industry knowledge, strong business acumen and well-established relationships have driven significant growth, strengthened our market presence and enhanced customer relationships worldwide, consistently positioning our group as industry leaders,” Filippo Berti, chairman and CEO of Ali Group, said.
Elsewhere in the company, Scott Cherevaty will take on the role of group president at Welbilt while continuing in his current role as president of Champion Group, a position he has held since 2023. In his expanded capacity, Cherevaty will also work with the leadership of the American Dish Service and Edlund brands to drive synergies across the brands. He joined the organization in 2004 as a national sales manager for Champion Industries.
Tom Hotard was promoted to chief engineering officer for Ali Group and Welbilt globally. He joined the organization in 2010 as vice president of operations and development at Beverage-Air. Since then, he has held several leadership roles, including executive vice president of Beverage-Air, president of H.C. Duke & Son and executive vice president of Ali Group and Welbilt. In his new position, Hotard will advise Ali Group and Welbilt companies on operations and engineering initiatives and provide manufacturing support.
Giuseppe Scavello was appointed to the position of vice president of finance operations for Ali Group North America. He will continue to oversee the financial and reporting processes, providing guidance and support to all the Ali Group North America companies. Scavello joined the Ali Group in 2015 and has held several key roles in the group’s finance organization.
Justin Mooney was promoted to CFO of Scotsman Group LLC. He joined Ali Group North America as a corporate controller in 2016 and most recently served as senior director of finance operations for Ali Group North America.
Finally, Korey Brownlee, currently the general manager of Beverage-Air and Victory, will assume the role of president of the two companies. Brownlee joined the group in 2018 as a senior buyer for Beverage-Air and Victory.
