Longtime Service Agent John Guettler Remembered

John Guettler, the owner of Commercial Kitchen Service (CKS), passed away on Aug. 16, 2025, at age 96.

A lifelong Michigan resident, Guettler was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Before and after his time in the military, he worked for Kirchman Brothers and CKS, installing and servicing commercial foodservice equipment. In time, he became the owner of CKS, where he continued to work daily until he was hospitalized in December 2024. He was also a longtime member of the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association.

Guettler is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dolores, four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 23, in Bay City, Michigan.
