Bruno DeLorenzo

Bruno DeLorenzo, one of the co-founders of Randell Manufacturing, part of Unified Brands, passed away Jan. 4 at the age of 95.

DeLorenzo was born in Northern Italy in 1930 and immigrated to the United States at the age of 16, accompanied by his brother Paul as they entered through Ellis Island. He returned to Italy at 27 years old, where he met and married Mary Theresa Robin. The couple eventually came back to the United States, settling in Detroit, where he took a job at the equipment manufacturer Delfield, which had been founded by Paul DeLorenzo. In 1975, he co-founded Randell along with Paul, his other brother, Omero, and his good friend, Lou Rastelli. He retired in 1986 after the company was sold to Dover Corp. It is now part of Unified Brands, which was acquired by Electrolux Professional Group in 2021.

Bruno and Mary enjoyed traveling abroad, making annual visits back to Italy as well as trips to Mexico, Germany, Australia, China, and other countries. He also spent countless hours in his metal and woodworking shops, creating clocks and mementos by hand. Family and friends remember him as a selfless and giving man who was always willing to lend a hand and utilize his incredible skills to fix just about anything.

A celebration of life for extended family and friends is planned for this spring.
