In a news release, Middleby said the launch of Midera reflects the continued advancement of its food processing platform into a more focused, technology-driven organization delivering total line solutions. Foodservice Equipment Sales Grow, but Short of Projections With Fewer New Projects in Industry Pipeline
Despite lower-than-expected sales, quoting and consultant activity improved compared to Q4 2025, resulting in the strongest quarter in the past four years. It’s questionable whether that increase in activity will be sustained, as Q1 2026 saw only 880 new projects, a 13% decrease compared to the beginning of 2025 and 10% fewer than Q4 2025.

New Federal Reserve Chair Shared His Economic Vision as a Past FEDA Conference Special Guest Speaker
At the 2024 FEDA Annual Executive Leadership Conference, Kevin Warsh reflected on his work to help guide the United States out of the 2008 financial crisis and covered the lessons from that period that can be applied to the permacrisis facing businesses today. He analyzed the Fed’s current policies, particularly regarding inflation, and laid out a roadmap for how companies can spur economic growth and foster stability amid turbulent financial markets. Trade Associations Ask Supreme Court to Clarify Corporate Transparency Act’s Constitutionality
The Supreme Court is now deciding whether to review two cases involving the Corporate Transparency Act: National Small Business United v. Bessent and Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc. v. Blanche. These cases raise fundamental questions over whether the CTA expands the scope of Congress’ economic powers and if it conflicts with the Fourth Amendment’s protections against unreasonable searches and seizures by the government.
