Burkett to Hold Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Aug. 11
Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies and its supporters will once again take to the fairways to raise money to find a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS). The event has been held annually since 2021 and is named in honor of the company’s founder, Mike Burkett, who passed away after a 34-year battle with MS.

New Director of Sales at Electrolux Professional Group
Electrolux Professional Group, a FEDA manufacturer member, has promoted Alex Edwards to director of sales for the general market in the Americas. In this new role, Edwards will lead the regional sales director team to grow sales through the company’s independent representative and dealer channels.
 
Food Service Holdings Adds Western Regional Sales Manager
Josh Zielinski has joined Food Service Holdings and BSI as the Western regional sales manager for the FEDA manufacturer member. With extensive experience navigating dealer, consultant and end-user relationships, as well as hands-on territory management, the company believes Zielinski is uniquely positioned to drive growth and engagement across the territory.

Alto-Shaam Donates Hot Holding Cabinet to Remodeled Ronald McDonald House Kitchen
Alto-Shaam, a FEDA manufacturer member, has donated a 1200-UP hot holding cabinet to support a kitchen remodel and renovation at the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago. Outfitted with new equipment, the professional chef-grade kitchen will serve more than 140,000 meals annually to families staying at the house and other nearby Ronald McDonald House locations.

Victorinox Selects New Manufacturers' Rep for the Northeast
Victorinox and its subsidiary Epicurean, a manufacturer of premium foodservice cutting surfaces and kitchen tools, have named Tri-State Marketing Associates as its exclusive manufacturers’ representative agency for its hotel, restaurant and café/foodservice division. Tri-State Marketing will represent the FEDA manufacturer members in the territories of New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Upstate New York, metro New York, and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Chocolate Experience Coming to HostMilano 2025
Master chocolatier and taste innovator Davide Comaschi will debut a new experiential project, sCIOCk – Chocolate in Motion, at HostMilano 2025, held Oct. 17–21 at Fiera Milano in Rho, Italy. Described as a cultural and sensory space devoted to chocolate in all its forms, sCIOCk aims to engage professionals, industry leaders and enthusiasts through a series of interactive experiences. The program will include live demonstrations, themed talks, technical master classes, and roundtable discussions featuring chefs, pastry chefs, food designers, and other thought leaders from the confectionery industry.

2025 Freight Classification Guide Now Available
Compiled by Kuehne+Nagel, the annual Foodservice Freight Classification Guide includes a list of the most common foodservice equipment and supplies items with the most recent freight classifications.
NAW Files Lawsuit to Block Oregon EPR Law
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors filed a lawsuit on July 30 against the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, challenging the constitutionality of the state’s newly implemented extended producer responsibility (EPR) law. In the lawsuit, the association argues the recycling law violates the Oregon and U.S. constitutions by delegating control over the program to a single private entity and unfairly targeting out-of-state producers.
Joint Employer Bill Passed Out of Committee
A bill that would cement the definition of a joint employer as only companies that have direct control over workers has passed out of committee. The House Committee on Education and Workforce advanced the Save Local Business Act, H.R. 4366, with a 20–16 vote along party lines. Rep. James Comer (R-KY) introduced the bill in July to prevent the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from reinterpreting the joint employment standard with each new presidential administration, a process that has left businesses uncertain about their responsibilities around collective bargaining and workplace conditions.
