Restaurant Industry Returned to Modest Sales Gains and Dampened Customer Traffic in March
After rising to a 13-month high in February, the restaurant industry experienced a minor dip in March, resulting from somewhat softer same-store sales and customer traffic. The National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Performance Index fell 0.9% for the month, sitting right at the 100-point mark that signals the difference between industry growth and contraction.

Proposed Law Would Require Employers to Display Information on Workers’ Right to Unionize
Supporters of the Know Your Labor Rights Act have said it is intended to ensure that American workers are fully informed of their rights in the workplace and are equipped to advocate for themselves on the job. However, business advocacy groups are warning that the bill would essentially require companies to endorse unions. In a letter to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) said the proposed law would create new requirements for small businesses that largely do not track new federal regulations, potentially exposing them to penalties.
